Go to the Grotto

Stand or sit in front of the Grotto. You are here because someone is expecting you. Look up at Mary. As the apparition taught Bernadette, make a meaningful sign of the cross: In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. In your heart, think of those who are suffering or who need support. Entrust them to the maternal protection of Our Lady of Lourdes.

You can feel at home here. Bernadette said, “The Grotto was my heaven.” Allow Our Lady of Lourdes to come to you as well and to lead you into the loving embrace of her Son. It is Jesus who heals you and gives you life.

History of the grotto in Miami

In 2009, a parishioner was drawn to the Virgin Mary statue after spending the 4 a.m. hour in adoration. He realized the statue was made of plaster and fiberglass. As he was in the marble and granite business, he wanted to create Mary in marble. He contacted the Pastor, and the process began. The priest traveled to Italy to help select the stone and to bless it.

The new statue now sits above a beautiful waterfall with seating for people to reflect, pray and seek guidance.
