Vocations and Missions

To welcome pilgrims, particularly sick or disabled persons or those who are alone.

Notre-Dame de Lourdes Helpers are:

  • Pilgrims
Involved in a process of personal and Group transformation, and a time of Prayer and penance.
  • Volunteers
Men and Women committed to making themselves available every year in order to welcome, guide and serve by providing pilgrimages, pilgrims and sick people with the necessary human and technical resources.
  • Servants
“Whoever would be great among you must be your servant […]”
“No longer do I call you servants […]; but I have called you friends.” (Jn 15, 15).
“You did not choose me but I chose you […]. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another.”
  • Skill Providers
The spirituality highlighted at Lourdes takes precedence over the technical desire for power or expertise.
    Skills are underpinned by:
    • Comprehensive training,
    • The acquisition of interpersonal skills through the consideration given to people (“She looked at me like a person looks at a person.”).,
    • The acquisition of expertise through a comprehensive training course, ongoing training and the updating of skills...,
  • People From All Nations
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female […].” Galatians 3,26–3,28)
The role of Helpers is to welcome these people brought here by faith and allow them to live out their pilgrimage.
